Parc-Extension residents fight development project, call for social housing instead

Residents of Parc-Extension are trying to stop a development project they say is contributing to the gentrification of their neighbourhood. Two buildings in Park Ex earmarked for demolition and replacement by condo projects aimed at students won a reprieve at Borough Council Tuesday night. Protesters gathered outside of that borough council meeting, calling for the current plan to be scrapped. We speak with Sasha Dyck, one of the organizers behind the protest; and Mary Deros, the Montreal City Councillor who represents Parc-Extension.
