New research shows gender and political affiliation played a role in how Calgarians voted in the Olympic plebiscite last November. 56.4 per cent voted against hosting the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, while 43.6 per cent voted in favour. Jack Lucas is behind the new report. He is the director of the Urban Policy Program and an associate professor of political science at the University of Calgary.
