Opioid crisis is booming in small- and medium-sized cities: CIHI

A new report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) indicates the opioid crisis is most acute in small to medium-sized cities. In Quebec, St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivieres have the highest hospitalization rate for opioid poisoning in the province.We speak to Krista Louie, the manager of Opioid Reporting at the CIHI, and Dr. William Barackett, a family doctor in the Eastern Townships and an expert on addiction and chronic pain.
