CUFF Docs 2018: The Insufferable Groo

The Homestretch

Many people dream of making movies: of moving to Hollywood, living the movie start lifestyle and telling cinematic stories in exotic places, but few turn those dreams into reality. Stephen Groo is a die-hard filmmaker -- with some 200 films under his belt. The problem is: none of his films have made it to the big screen... or even the small screen. He's bankrolled them all -- writing, shooting, directing, producing and even STARRING in the films, when his actors were not working out. Now, Stephen Groo's passionate struggle as a filmmaker is the subject of a documentary screening at the Calgary Underground Film Festival. The doc is called: The Insufferable Groo. Host Doug Dirks spoke to Stephen Groo earlier this week.
