McGill prof resolves Charles Darwin's unanswered question

In his "On the Origin of Species", Charles Darwin wondered why, within a single colony of ants, some became super-sized soldiers while most remained wee workers. He admitted, "This is by far the most serious special difficulty which my theory has encountered." The answer to Darwin's question, has just been published in the prestigious journal Nature. We spoke to the paper's lead author, McGill University professor Ehab Abouheif.
