What's the solution to rising drug costs?

Blue Sky

We are still figuring out all the winners and losers of the new US-Canada-Mexico trade deal. But one of the changes we say see here in Canada is patients paying more for pharmaceuticals. We asked: Have you ever not filled a prescription because you couldn't afford it? Do you think Canada should have a national pharma care plan to help people who may be currently falling through the cracks? How much responsibility should doctors have for making sure they know how much the drugs cost so they don't prescribe medicines their patients can't afford? We were joined by Dr. Iris Gorfinkel. She's a family doctor and an advocate for understanding drug costs. We also heard from the province of Saskatchewan about what programs are currently available to help people for pricey prescriptions.
