Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are (Still) Dead... But Now They Are Women

Daybreak Alberta

The awarding-winning Tom Stoppard play about two Shakespeare characters from "Hamlet," reimagined Rosencrantz and Gildenstern as the misfit heroes of their own out-of-context adventure. The play is a modern classic, but Calgary's Shakespeare Company and Hit & Myth Productions wanted to take it to new places. That included casting two of top female actors to interpret the titular characters. The show runs at the Martha Cohen Theatre until October 21, and Russell Bowers sat down for a chat with the show's stars, Julie Orton, Myla Southward, and Christopher Hunt.
