Catholic priest in Calgary accused of sexual misconduct

The Homestretch

One day after Canada's Catholic Bishops issued new guidelines for handling sexual abuse allegations, the Catholic Diocese of Calgary is confirming the Pastor of Saint Francis of Assisi Church has been accused of sexual misconduct. The allegations date back more than a decade ago, when Father Peter Hung Cong Tran was working in Vancouver. Since then he has worked in parishes in Calgary and Edmonton. He has now been withdrawn from service and is prohibited from exercising any priestly ministry in the Diocese of Calgary. Father Timothy Boyle is the Bishop's Delegate with the Diocese of Calgary. He spoke with host Doug Dirks.
