Banff Centre launches Indigenous arts programs

The Homestretch

We often see Indigenous women portrayed as victims of crime and injustice in various media. But there's a movement afoot to change that and represent women in a more powerful, positive light. The Banff Centre is bringing that discussion to the table Monday, at the launch of its first full season of Indigenous Arts programming. Reneltta Arluk is the director of the new program. She is from the Inuvialuit Dene and Cree Nation. Kelly Edzerza-Bapty is on the panel. She is the co-founder of the ReMatriate Collective and from the Tahltan Nation in Northwestern B.C. They joined host Doug Dirks on the line from Banff.
