Medicine Hat man describes close encounter with 800-metre-wide tornado

A Medicine Hat family had a very close call with the powerful tornado that killed a man in Alonsa, Manitoba, this past Friday night. The tornado is believed to have measured 800 metres wide at one point, with winds gusting at over 225 kilometres per hour. Dustin Zdan was vacationing at his parents' cabin on Lake Manitoba when the twister hit. Host Doug Dirks reached him in Medicine Hat.
