Sudbury musician writes tribute song to the people fighting forest fires in northern Ontario this summer

Up North

It's been a tense summer in northern Ontario with forest fires threatening communities across the region. Parry Sound 33 is one of the big ones, prompting evacuations in communities south of Sudbury. Firefighters and volunteers from across the continent are in the region, working to get the situation under control. A Sudbury musician has written a song to pay tribute to those people. On the weekend, JoPo released her song called Parry Sound 33. She joined us in our Sudbury studio to talk about what inspired it.
