Death likely for detained Mexican journalist if deported

Mexican journalist Emilio Gutiérrez-Soto received death threats after writing about military corruption, so he and his son fled to the U.S. He followed all the rules and asked for asylum, but a U.S. judge ordered he be deported. His lawyer filed an appeal and Gutiérrez-Soto is being held in an immigration detention centre in El Paso awaiting a final ruling.
