Why are so many young Canadians homeless, and what should be done about it?

On any given night in this country, more than 6,000 young people are couchsurfing, bouncing in and out of shelters, or sleeping rough on the street. Some are as young as 13. Michael’s guests are: Bruce Rivers, Executive Director of Covenant House in Toronto, Canada's largest shelter for homeless youth; Melanie Redman, co-founder of A Way Home Canada, which re-imagines solutions to youth homelessness; Mike Gawliuk, Director of Service Delivery & Program Innovation with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Kelowna, B.C., and Jayne Malenfant, PhD student at McGill, who was homeless at age 15.
