Beyond Black History Month


For the last 4 weeks, galas were held, exhibits were put on display, and everyone from Prince to everyday members of Montreal's Black community was honoured. But what happens once Black History Month is over? "We are silenced," says Shanice Yarde, Equity Educational Advisor at McGill's SEDE office. Yarde says, once March 1 comes around, we need "to push past the idea that we only exist in February."
