Easy No-Sew Halloween Costume: Gumball Machine

Oct 11, 2016

Alright. You're ready to make your own gumball machine costume. Here is what you'll need:

materials needed for gumball costume

  • red sweater
  • black pants
  • black felt
  • hat
  • pompoms x 3 bags
  • scissors
  • tin foil
  • hot-glue gun

STEP ONE: THE GUMBALL HAT

You're going to need a few bags of pompoms and several glue sticks to get this job done. You can also use a ball approximately the size of your child's head and a roll of tape to build your own little hat-stand to help while you're gluing. Simply take the pompomps, put a dab of hot glue on the end and press onto the hat. Repeat until the whole hat is covered.

STEP TWO: THE SHIRT

Take a piece of black felt and cut it into a square. Hot glue the square onto a red shirt. Now take a piece of tinfoil and fold it into a long and skinny strip. Bend the tin foil to make the number 2 and the number 5 and a cents symbol. Glue these to the shirt.

Voila! Now your little gumball machine is ready (and warm enough) to go trick-or-treating, all for under $25!
