CBC Ottawa's summer TV series, Absolutely Ottawa, returns with six new episodes, featuring musical performances, short films and documentaries.

Solo Spotlight - June 29, at 7 p.m.

EPISODE 1:  Celebrate Canada Day weekend with a cross-cultural musical show featuring some of Ontario's outstanding recording artists in performance and interview.  A world of musical influences - from South America, Africa and Europe - is packed into this entertaining hour.  Guests include:  Patricia Cano, Stephan Moccio, France Maisonneuve, Servantes, The Mighty Popo and Cindy Doire.

Ottawa Docs - July 6, at 7 p.m.Absolutely Ottawa, Ep. 5: Ottawa Docs

EPISODE 2:  Six short documentaries take a look at our community.  These remarkable stories, produced by emerging directors from the Ottawa-Gatineau area, tell the tale of everyday people and their impact on our society.  Documentary titles include:  Walter the Crow, Husniyah, Che the Parrot, Gogo's Therapy, Parkour, and Sound Bites.

Studio 14 Sessions - July 13, at 7 p.m.Fevers' Sarah Bradley on piano and Martiin Charbonneau on guitar, in Studio 14 Sessions.

EPISODE 3:  An intimate music/interview program featuring popular Ottawa-area bands, stripped down to only a few key members.  Listen in to Kellylee Evans, Fevers, Loon Choir, Acorn, and Mike Dubue of the Hilotronsin performance and conversation in CBC Ottawa's Studio 14.

Food on Wheels - July 20, at 7 p.m.

EPISODE 4:  This one-hour documentary sinks its teeth into Ottawa's street food industry with a focus on the gourmet and specialty food truck movement new to the city.  You'll savour flatbread pizza, Korean food, empanadas, organic soup and quench it with a beverage from the beer bike! Food on Wheels is produced by Bonnie Robinson of YOW! Productions.  Visit the City of Ottawa website to find out where these new vendors are located.  

Embassy Row - July 27, at 7 p.m.

EPISODE 5:  Embassy Row is a one-hour documentary that will delve into the lives of the men and women who have come from around the world to work in the diplomatic field in Canada's capital.  It's a foreign world that we imagine is full of espionage, high-stakes politics and formal affairs. We uncover what really goes on inside the chancery and ambassadors' residences. Embassy Row is produced by Mark Chatel, Balestra Productions.

Ottawa Shorts - August 3, at 7 p.m.Absolutely Ottawa, Ep. 6: Ottawa Shorts

EPISODE 6:  Short dramatic films by local Ottawa-Gatineau independent filmmakers are featured in this one-hour program. Shorts include finalists from the Ottawa International Film Festival and Digi 60 Film Festival.
