Author Gayla Reid

Gayla Reid is an award winning author who lives on Vancouver Island.  Her latest novel is Come From Afar and it's a compelling story set in the time of the Spanish Civil War.  The main character is Clancy, a nurse from Australia who ends up working in the field in the midst of the conflict.  The book is filled with vivid descriptions of the landscape and a real sense of the confusion causes by the civil war.  I really enjoyed reading it and talking to Gayla about the story and her research for it.
