The Booty Boppin' Brass Band plays high energy New Orleans brass band music, Halifax style: 2nd line drums, driving funk, hip hop and Latin beats and, of course, the Blues! It's all about impossible horn arrangements, a sousaphone that doesn't stop and fun vocals. Lots of audience participation with folk singing, stomping and playing percussion on stage with the Booties. And there's even some cool choreography.

Your noise-making efforts will coincide with the finale of the Tall Ships Orchestra's performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, complete with cannons, church bells and fireworks on the Halifax Waterfront.CBC Nova Scotia encourages you to keep your camera handy during your celebrations, and then e-mail your photo or video showing how you celebrated ships in Nova Scotia to cbcnovascotia@cbc.ca.
