Stories from Syria

A look at how the civil war is affecting Syrians in Canada

Last Updated: July 29, 2013

The two-year-old conflict in Syria has become a preoccupation for Syrian-Canadians worried about the fate of family members back home.

Waking up to the news and going to sleep with it has become a daily routine for many Syrians living here.

This interactive project looks at how some of their lives have changed since the start of the revolution in 2011, from Syrian-Canadians who escaped the conflict to those who feel it is their duty to return.

Listen and watch as these individuals try to connect with loved ones and anxiously wait to hear stories from Syria. Use the navigation on the left to hear and watch their stories unfold.
