A six-year-old boy’s fears that Santa Claus might not fit down the chimney of his parents’ planned new home have been allayed after he witnessed a test run featuring Saint Nick lowered by crane through a custom-designed chimney.

Leo Park wrote a letter to Jeremy Paxton, the developer of a housing estate in the Cotswolds, England, expressing his concerns: "Dear Mr Paxton, I am worried that my mummy's house does not have a big enough chimney. I think Santa Claus will get stuck. Please can you help? Love Leo Park."

In response, Paxton commissioned a chimney design and enlisted a full-figured Santa Claus, harness and crane. Leo was invited to watch a test fitting for Santa and the chimney.

"Go on, Santa," he shouted as Santa was hoisted upward.

The drop worked like Christmas magic, and Leo gave the thumbs-up. His family plans to move into their new home next December.
