Tropical Storm Gordon has weakened slightly as it moves east in the Atlantic.
Gordon's maximum sustained winds early Friday decreased to near 100 kilometres per hour. But the U.S. National Hurricane Center says Gordon could still strengthen to a hurricane over the weekend before reaching cooler waters. The storm is expected to approach the Azores late Sunday.
Gordon is centered about 1,925 kilometres west of the Azores and is moving east near 30 kph.
