American protester killed in Gaza
An American peace activist in Gaza was killed Sunday by an Israeli bulldozer, said hospital officials.
Rachel Corrie, 23, was protesting against the destruction of a building in the Rafah refugee camp. Witnesses say she fell and was run over by a bulldozer.
The Olympia, Wash., native died of head and chest injuries after being taken to a hospital in Rafah.
An army spokesman called it a "regrettable accident."
Corrie was part of a group of American and British citizens acting as human shields against Israeli military operations.
