The internet took off like a runaway llama on Thursday night when one Tumblr user posted a picture of a dress, asking: Is this dress white and gold, or blue and black?

On its website, Roman Originals describes their royal blue dress as "bang on trend." They got that right. (Roman Originals)

The #TheDress phenomenon divided households, friends and colleagues and soon overwhelmed the Tumblr user who posed the original question.

It sparked opinions from far and wide. Celebrities like Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga weighed in. Marketing geniuses capitalized on the viral trend with #TheDress-themed tweets.

Even professional sports teams, such as the Minnesota Vikings, were talking about this dress.

In the end, though, it appears that #TeamBlackAndBlue has prevailed. The dress is from Roman Originals, and it doesn't come in #whiteandgold.
