To celebrate Canadian Citizenship Week, Oct. 15-19, the Historica-Dominion Institute is inviting students and teachers across Canada to take part in its Canadian Citizenship Challenge.

Teachers and students can register for the challenge online at www.canadiancitizenshipchallenge.ca for a chance to win prizes, including a classroom Citizenship Celebration and an all-expenses-paid trip to Ottawa.

In the online challenge, students have 15 minutes to answer 20 questions based on "Discover Canada," the federal government's guide for newcomers studying for the Canadian citizenship test. See 10 sample questions below.

The Institute is also hosting a "Canadian Citizenship Challenge: Are you Smarter than a 10th Grader?" event on Monday, Oct. 22, at the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Que. The CBC's Kady O'Malley and Laura Payton will go up against Gr. 10 students in a live version of the challenge moderated by Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney.
