According to Adam Cohen, the early years of his career were spent attempting to carve out his own territory. Now, at age 39, he’s reassessed how he approaches music.

With his latest album Like a Man, released in October, the younger Cohen allowed himself to adopt his father Leonard’s style for the first time, from the acoustic guitar to the similarly deep voice.

In an interview with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC's cultural affairs show Q, Cohen talks about being the son of a Canadian icon, why he finds himself in the family business and why he wishes his dad had been more critical of him.
