Kim Kardashian to divorce Kris Humphries

Just 72 days after a lavish wedding ceremony recorded for her reality TV show, Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce from her basketball player husband Kris Humphries.

Her reality show producer Ryan Seacrest confirmed the news on Twitter.

Kardashian, 31, will cite "irreconcilable differences" in filing for a divorce on Monday in Los Angeles.

It was the first marriage for Humphries and the second for Kardashian, who was married to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004. The couple reportedly have a prenuptial agreement.

Kardashian is reported to have spent $10 million US on the California ceremony, which took place in front of cameras.

The first few months of their marriage will be documented on Kourtney & Kim Take New York, which is set to screen beginning on Nov. 27.
