Wildrose releases donor list, calls on other parties to do the same

The Wildrose Party has unveiled a list of its top donors and says it has raised more than $1 million in donations in the lead-up to Tuesday's provincial election vote.
The donor list was released Sunday afternoon. It contains the names of donors, including individuals and companies, who contributed more than $250 to the party, for a total of nearly $740,000. Donations under $250 are not included.
While releasing the list, Wildrose leader Brian Jean challenged his opponents to do the same ahead of the vote.
"We have released our large campaign contributions and I hope Mr. Prentice will put to rest any notion his party might once again be flouting the law to save their regime," he said in a release.
"The NDP must also release its large donors list, so that Albertans can understand what special interests Rachel Notley is beholden to," Jean said.
The list shows that the Wildrose received four donations of $30,000: two from individuals, plus a property development company and a numbered company registered in Calgary.
Wildrose Donations
- $30,000 - 4 donations
- $10,000 - $15,000 - 14 donations
- $5,000 - $9,999 - 25 donations
- $1,000 - $4,999 - 116 donations
- $250 - $999 - 282 donations
All parties must prepare financial statements listing donations over $250, which are filed with Alberta Elections following the vote.
