Windsor still has Canada's highest unemployment

Windsor's unemployment rate dipped by more than half a percentage point in April, down to 10.1 per cent. It was 10.7 per cent in March.

Even with the improvement, Windsor still has Canada's highest unemployment rate.

Regina had Canada's lowest rate at 3.8 per cent.

Ontario's unemployment rate increased 0.4 per cent to 7.8 per cent.

Nationally, employment increased by 58,000 jobs in April, mostly in full-time work. It was the second consecutive month of notable gains after four months of little change, according to Statistics Canada.

With more people searching for work, the unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points to 7.3 per cent, the report said.
