Man arrested for threatening to bring gun to Western University

The student made posts saying "he planned to attend Western University with a gun in order to cause harm to individuals," say London police.

A North York man was arrested Monday for threatening to bring a gun to Western University campus, according to London police. 

The 22-year-old student allegedly uttered the threats on social media, which was discovered by the school's campus police.

The man made posts saying "he planned to attend Western University with a gun in order to cause harm to individuals," according to a London police news release.

The man has been charged with uttering threats to cause death and remains in custody.

Western University officials issued a statement about the incident Monday afternoon.

"These situations are upsetting. If community members are in need of assistance, they can contact and access health services on campus," officials said.
