Pickup slams into building in downtown Windsor

An early morning crash on Sunday ended with a 23-year-old man facing impaired driving charges after he alleged slammed into cars, fence and an apartment.

An early morning crash on Sunday ended with a 23-year-old man facing impaired driving charges.

Windsor Police say the driver of a pickup lost control while making a turn, hit a parked car, a fence and finally the wall of the building at 350 Church Street.

The driver and two passengers were taken to hospital.

A 33 year old male passenger in the front seat cut his forehead, broken shoulder and possible concussion. 

The 21-year-old female passenger's injuries were serious. She was in the back seat pickup. She sustained serious internal injuries and was admitted to the intensive care unit at hospital. 

A 23-year-old man  is charged with:

  • two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
  • two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
  • two counts of exceeding 80 mg of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
