London, Ont., police charge woman after dead baby found in dumpster
Police allege 23-year-old woman is the baby's mother, responsible for placing body in dumpster

A 23-year-old woman is charged with failing to get assistance with childbirth and improperly disposing of a child's body after a dead baby was found in a London, Ont., dumpster.
The body of the newborn was found about 11:35 a.m. Thursday in a dumpster behind an apartment complex in the central part of the city. Police believe the woman put the body there.
A resident found the body and called 911. Officers confirmed that it was a baby when they arrived.
The woman was found in Amherstburg, Ont., which is a nearly two hour drive south of London. After taking her to hospital, the woman was taken to London by detectives with London police's major crimes unit.
An autopsy on the baby was performed Friday, but police say it could take weeks or months before the coroner can determine the cause of death.
