Damage estimated at $15K, resident in critical condition following Windsor fire

The resident who escaped the flames was transported to hospital with severe burns.

A resident critically injured in an apartment fire on Rivard Avenue Thursday is in stable condition and has been transported to London for treatment.

The person was rescued from the flames, but suffered severe burns, according to Windsor Fire and Rescue Services.

Two cats were also rescued from the second-floor fire that began around 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental and damage is estimated at $15,000.
