Dajcor Aluminum Ltd. in Chatham plans $10M expansion, adds 35 jobs

Dajcor Aluminum Ltd. is getting $1 million from the province's Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, as it spends $10 million on new equipment that will allow it to expand.

An aluminum company in Chatham, Ont., plans to add 35 jobs.

Dajcor Aluminum Ltd. is getting $1 million from the province's Southwestern Ontario Development Fund, as it spends $10 million on new equipment that will allow it to expand.

The company makes components used in cars, boats, bathroom fixtures, sliding doors and the construction industry.

Some of the new areas Dajcor is exploring include transit door assemblies, ventilation systems, LED light enclosures and high-end furniture.

The expansion work should be finished by the end of 2018.

Currently, 140 people work at the Chatham company.
