The arbitration saga between the City of Windsor and its firefighters is coming to end after the two sides met in Toronto over the weekend.

The Windsor Professional Firefighters Association took issue with an arbitration award from October 2013.

The association wants clarification on how the 2013 award affects the firefighters' organizational structure.Angelo Gertsakis, the association's president, declined to go into more detail.

"We're just going to wait for [the arbitrator] to issue out his award and then we can start moving on," Gertsakis said.

Gertsakis said the arbitrator will issue an award within two to three weeks.
