Road repairs on and around a section of Yonge Street in the downtown core are being extended into the work week.

In a news release, officials from the City of Toronto said the road will be closed until further notice.

The damaged roads were discovered Friday evening, forcing the city to shut down Yonge from College to Alexander streets. On Saturday, it was announced nearby Wood and Grenville streets would also be closed.

Only local traffic is being allowed to use those roads at this time.

It's unclear when the road repairs will be finished but crews have been working on them throughout the weekend.
