Wrong way driver stopped on Gardiner Expressway
23-year-old faces impaired driving charges
A 23-year-old faces charges of impaired driving after police stopped a vehicle heading the wrong way on the Gardiner Expressway early Friday.
Police were alerted to a car heading eastbound in the Gardiner’s westbound lanes at about 3:30 a.m. Police believe the car got onto the Gardiner at Islington Avenue.
The car was safely intercepted by police near Parkside Drive.
Police say the car was travelling about 60 km/h when it was stopped.
