Worker killed in crane accident on Martin Grove Road

A man in his 50s has been killed at an industrial accident involving a crane in north Toronto late Monday morning.

Toronto police were dispatched at 11:38 a.m. to a construction site at 1130 Martin Grove Rd., one block north of the Dixon Road intersection, after a piece of heavy equipment injured a worker.

Police said the man was unconscious, bleeding and was rushed to hospital without vital signs.

The Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate.

Police have not released the identity of the man or details of the accident.
