With a high of 16 C on Wednesday, it'll be a warm one. But there's also lots of rain in the forecast.

Wednesday's weather is set to be warm and wet — so put away your parka and bring out an umbrella.

Periods of rain are expected this morning, followed by showers this afternoon, says Environment Canada.

"March comes in like a wet lion with very mild temperatures," says the agency's special weather statement for Toronto.

There's also a high of a balmy 16 C in the forecast.

You can also expect a slick commute on Wednesday morning. The province's winter road conditions report says the 401, 401 and QEW are all bare and wet, with some stretches experiencing lowered visibility.

And Environment Canada says there could be flooding in some areas.

"Motorists should also be prepared to encounter ponded water on poorly drained sections of highways today," the agency says.

Winter weather coming back fast

On Wednesday night, the rain is expected to taper down — then it's mainly cloudy, with a 60 per cent chance of flurries and a low of —7 C.

After that, it seems like the winter weather is coming back quickly.

Temperatures are dropping back down on Thursday to a high of —1 C and a low of —11 C, with flurries in the forecast through the weekend.
