Via Rail train service will resume Wednesday morning on the Ottawa-Toronto and Montreal-Toronto lines, after being disrupted by a derailment near Cobourg, Ont.

Service has been interrupted since Sunday, when 25 cars of a freight train derailed about an hour east of Toronto.

All other trains in the Ontario-Quebec corridor are operating normally, including the Montreal-Ottawa route.

Officials said Monday that jet fuel had been cleared at the derailment site.
