An early-morning TTC bus crash on Overlea Boulevard near Thorncliffe Park has sent the driver to hospital and taken out a cement pole.

There were 10 passengers on board, but nobody was injured in the 2 a.m. collision. The 41-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries.

Police from 54 Division were called in to investigate the crash, which damaged the windows and front door of the bus.

"Loud, like a bomb," said one witness, describing the collision. He said the bus had veered off the road before it slammed into the pole.

"The bus was pretty much out of control … there was a big pole or something. It crashed, it fell down."

No charges have been laid in the incident.
