The Transportation Safety Board is launching an investigation at Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport after what it's calling a "risk of mid-air collision."

The TSB says the incident happened before 7:30 a.m. ET and involved Porter flight DHC842. The agency suspects the plane nearly collided with a drone.

Two crew members sustained injuries after performing evasive manoeuvres. The extent of those injuries is unknown.

The TSB agency investigates marine, pipeline, railway and aviation transportation occurrences.
