Toronto police say a man has been charged with sexual assault after allegedly luring a woman to his home under the guise of selling her a cat through an online classifieds website.

They say the woman answered the ad on Thursday, when she went to a home to meet with the man.

They say the woman had some food and drinks with the man after agreeing to buy the cat, and then began to feel unwell.

They allege the man led her to his bedroom where he sexually assaulted her.

A 52-year-old man was arrested Friday and charged with sexual assault and administering a noxious substance.

His first court appearance was Friday.
