Here's some information to get your day started:

'Important' change coming to King streetcar

This morning Mayor John Tory will be joined by TTC Chair Josh Colle and TTC CEO Andy Byford for an "important" announcement regarding the 504 King streetcar.

The 504 King is the city's busiest route, with about 60,000 riders each work day, and also one of the most infamously overcrowded. A city staff report released in August found that inefficient passenger boarding was responsible for delays of between four and 15 minutes each day for riders.

A report in The Globe and Mail suggests that Tory and the TTC will introduced all-door boarding on the route, which is similarly permitted on the busy Queen and Spadina routes.

Poochie comes home

Two weeks ago, Poochie the poodle was stolen as his owners paid for takeout food in Parkdale.

The story stirred a public outcry, and even resulted in a Crime Stoppers re-enactment video of the crime released online.

As it turns out, Poochie has been staying with a couple on the other side of the city for the last several weeks. The couple apparently found Poochie the night he was taken, but were unable to connect with the pup's rightful owner until this weekend.

If you need a holiday pick-me-up to get your week started, Poochie's return home is a good place to start
