Toronto has ended its latest heat alert. The alert declared Monday was the sixth of the season and was issued as humidex values were expected to approach 40C.

Toronto medical officer of health David McKeown ended the alert Tuesday morning.

Temperatures are forecast to be in the high 20s for the next several days, with showers today and Wednesday.

During a heat alert people are urged to check on those at risk of suffering from heat-related illness.
