Dozens of roads closed for GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon

Which roads and highways are affected by Sunday's Toronto GoodLife Fitness Marathon? We've got the list.

Sunday marks the annual GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon, and the event has already brought a slew of road closures in the city. 

The marathon started at 7:30 this morning at Mel Lastman Square and will end at Ontario Place. Other races, including a half-marathon, relay and walk, will take place throughout the day. 

Some roads have been closed since 5:30 this morning and there will be several other closures related to the event throughout the day.

Road closures

Here are some of the major road closures related to the event:​

  • Beecroft Road in all directions from Elmhurst Avenue to Horsham Avenue, 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (The northbound curb lane will be open for access to condominiums.)
  • Ellerslie Avenue in all directions from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Churchill Avenue in all directions from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • North York Boulevard in all directions from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street, 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Elmhurst Avenue in all directions from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Park Home Avenue in all directions from Beecroft Road to Yonge Street, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Yonge Street southbound from Horsham Avenue to Highway 401, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Highway 401/Yonge Street southbound ramps, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Yonge Street southbound from Highway 401 to York Mills Road, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Yonge Street southbound from York Mills Road to Eglinton Avenue, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Yonge Street southbound from Eglinton Avenue to Chaplin Crescent, 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Yonge Street southbound from Chaplin Crescent to Aylmer Road, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Chaplin Crescent westbound from Yonge Street to Oriole Parkway, 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Oriole Parkway southbound from Chaplin Crescent to Lonsdale Road, 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Lonsdale Road westbound from Avenue Road to Spadina Road, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Forest Hill Road northbound from Lonsdale Road to Kilbarry Road, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • Kilbarry Road eastbound from Forest Hill Road to Warren Road, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

  • Rosedale Valley Road in all directions from Aylmer Road to Bayview Avenue, 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  
  • Bayview Avenue in all directions from Rosedale Valley Road to Lawren Harris Square, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.   
  • Lawren Harris Square in all directions from Bayview Avenue to Lower River Street, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  
  • Lower River Street in all directions from Bayview Avenue to King Street East, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  
  • King Street East eastbound from River Street Wilkins Avenue, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  
  • Sumach Street in all directions from King Street East to Eastern Avenue, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Eastern Avenue westbound from Sumach Street to Front Street East, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Front Street East westbound from Eastern Avenue to Wellington Street East, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Wellington Street East/West westbound from Front Street East to John Street, 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • John Street southbound from Wellington Street West to Front Street West, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Front Street West westbound from John Street to Bathurst Street, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Bathurst Street southbound from Front Street West to Fort York Boulevard, 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Fort York Boulevard West southbound from Bathurst Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West, 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Marine Parade Drive eastbound from Humber Bay Park Rd East to Waterfront Drive, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Waterfront Drive in all directions from Marine Parade Drive to Palace Pier Court, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Lake Shore Boulevard eastbound curb lane from Humber River to Remembrance Drive, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (There will be access to roads on the south side when safe.)

Highway commuters should note that access to Jarvis Street from the Gardner Expressway eastbound ramp will be closed. On the westbound Gardiner Expressway, there will be no access to the westbound lanes on Lake Shore Boulevard from the Spadina ramps. The Bayview Bloor westbound and Bayview Avenue southbound DVP ramps will also be closed.
