Weather

Expect mainly sunny skies today with a high of 24 C. 

Traffic

The Toronto International Film Festival begins today, and that means a section of King Street West will be closed to vehicle traffic from University Avenue to Peter Street. The King 504 streetcar only goes to Bathurst Street from the west and as far as York Street from the east.

The TTC has added buses on Richmond and Adelaide Streets to fill in the gap. This story has details about the closure.

Tory to speak about Syrian refugee crisis

Mayor John Tory will meet with religious leaders this morning to discuss the Syrian refugee crisis. Human rights activists have also called a press conference for today to ask that applications for Syrians sponsored by families in Canada be expedited.

Blue Jays fall to Red Sox, begin key series with Yankees

The Red Sox took advantage of a poor start by Jays pitcher Drew Hutchinson in a 10-4 loss to Boston last night. The Jays are one and a half games up on the Yankees for the American League East lead and begin a crucial four-game series against the Yankees tonight in New York.
