The mother of a 17-year-old boy fatally stabbed in Etobicoke Wednesday night arrived at the scene crying and telling police 'I want to see my son."

Police say the woman's son, Saed Kaylie, died of stab wounds outside an apartment building located near the West Mall and Rathburn Road.

Just before 7 p.m., Kaylie and another man were chased by two suspects. After Kaylie was caught he was stabbed. Paramedics arrived but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A number of family members, including Kaylie's aunt Ubah Quaylie, gathered near the apartment building. Standing outside the perimeter of police tape, Quaylie fought back tears and described her nephew as "very friendly" and "family oriented."

"We lost a great kid," she told CBC News. "This is really sad."

Quaylie encouraged anyone with information about the stabbing to come forward.

"Whoever is involved will get caught," she said.

The other young man who was chased by the suspects managed to escape, but was later found by police and is being questioned.

Det. Sgt. Steve Ryan, of the Toronto police homicide unit, called on the two suspects to turn themselves in and asked any other witnesses with information to come forward.
