Man dies in hospital after stabbing at Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue
Police say man in his 50s was stabbed in the stomach Tuesday morning
A man who was stabbed near Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue on Tuesday has died in hospital.
Toronto Police Service's spokesperson Const. Jenniferjit Sidhu said several people called 911 just before noon. One witness described seeing "a fist fight that took place," she said.
When police arrived they found a man "conscious and breathing," said Sidhu. The victim had stab wounds to the abdomen area and was taken to hospital.
Toronto Paramedic Services confirmed at the time the man, believed to be in his 50s, was in life-threatening condition.
He was pronounced dead in hospital. His identity has not been released.
"Police are still in the area canvassing and searching for the suspect," Sidhu said.
Police said the suspect possibly fled in a red SUV.
