Water main break leads to sinkhole on Sheppard
Flooded streets overnight turned into a sinkhole by early Friday morning

A water main break on Sheppard Avenue West and Weston Road caused a sinkhole Friday morning, closing the intersection to traffic.
This incident is in addition to another break on Bloor Street West early Friday morning.
Sheppard was flooded with water around midnight after a break in the westbound lane approaching Weston.

By early Friday morning, a sinkhole had spread to cover most of the westbound side of the road. A few businesses and some upstairs apartments are currently without water.
Closures are in effect on Sheppard in both directions from Weston Road to Rivalda Road.

The 84 Sheppard West bus is turning back at Sheppard Avenue and Rivalda Road because of the break.
