Three young people facing dozens of sex-related charges were back in a Barrie, Ont., courtroom on Thursday after new details were revealed in the case of Shayne Lund and his two former girlfriends.

The court heard this week how Kathryn Thompson and Avery Taylor shared and encouraged Lund's sexual fantasies involving children and animals and, in an agreed-upon statement of facts read aloud in court, Thompson, 21, admitted to a number of gruesome acts, including:

  • Encouraging Lund to commit crimes against a four-year-old.
  • Coaching him by text to drug and sexually assault a 12-year-old.
  • Committing bestiality with her family dog.

The statement also said Thompson and Lund "had previously discussed having children together and having sex with them to teach them."

The case focuses on Lund, 24, who is seen as the ringleader.

Thompson also admitted — after Lund was arrested in September 2013 — she called his father, Mark Lund, an OPP officer, on two occasions.

She was arrested shortly after Lund and had deleted large amounts of data on her laptop and cellphone.

Sentencing for Thompson is set for March 25 in Newmarket. She has pleaded guilty to 11 charges, down from what was once 26 charges. She is out on bail.

Taylor pleaded guilty to 10 charges last month and remains in custody. She's due back in court on May 26

Lund has yet to enter a plea, and remains in police custody. He is also due back in court May 26.
